From what I can tell the cat track and bridges are in up to the bottom of heather lift. Of course it's raining like crazy up here... If the weather holds true though I wouldn't be surprised if the avy danger starts to settle by saturday! I hope to get out in the side country quite a bit next week! Be safe out there and let me know if any of you are interested in getting out Fri, Sun, Mon or Tues. Or all?
Joey, I took full advantage of that virgin cattrack on Sunday and she was very sweet. Made it way easier to get in and out, shaved at least 30 minutes off the approach to Newton.
I'm down to tour on Saturday if anyone's interested...

Helens anyone?
Most likely leaving Portland area 3:30 am Saturday. Conditions look most favorable early in the day. Should be able to make it to the rim a little after noon. Leisurely ride down with perhaps enough time to hit another objective.
I'm new to this message board but if you're looking for someone to ride with tomorrow, I'd be into Helens. Looks like it's going to be a pretty nice day! Not sure I could get up at 3:00 though. I could leave Portland at 6:00 or so. No worries if this is too late - wouldn't want to hold you back.

Hi Dan,
We usually leave around 5:30 - 6 when we ride at Hood. We are leaving early tomorrow as we want to summit Helens around noon for best conditions...
Just watch this thread and hop on one of our trips to Hood next time. I go pretty much every weekend. Cya

Nice vid Chris! I love Salmon River, where are those canyons?
Thanks for posting up pics of Helens Patrick, that was quite icy adventure! Elliot got some good flicks too. I especially like the shot (19 i think?) of Hood at sunrise.
