Couldn't make it to the mountains this weekend and the snow was rapidly melting. Why not Splitboard the Industrial Heartland of Alberta, an old reclaimed garbage dump in the Edmonton River Valley bordering Canada's largest hydrocarbon processing region.
It's not quite Rogers Pass but the 150 vertical foot slush rides down to the North Saskatchwan River didn't disappoint. (laugh..)
It was good for a laugh and some exercise, among the natural hazards of this Industrial space are man holes, vents for the garbage dump, random 4 foot pieces of rusty steel piping that look like tree branches but are much more lethal.
