The Tatoosh Range is located along the southern boundary of Mount Rainier National Park in the heart of the Washington Cascades. While a smaller range of peaks it is well known for both its rock climbing potential and breath taking views of Rainier. The Tatoosh runs roughly east-west, beginning with Tatoosh Peak to the southeast and ending with Eagle Peak to the west. There are thirteen named peaks within the range with summit elevations generally between 6000-7000 feet in height. Our intention was to head in for a summit attempt of Castle Mountain with a summit elevation of 6440.

Sweet - I need to get up there this winter. There was still snow there when I was up last summer, but Rainier takes precedence. It looks like a sweet winter tour though!
