We took a relatively quick hop up to the Slot Couloir Saturday. The approach was very crusty - so we ended up eschewing the esthetics and booting the whole thing. The snow in the Slot was pretty variable and a bit crusty at the top, which just added a little spice. It got nicer as we got lower, but I'd say it is pretty toast until some more snow falls (please!).

We popped out of the fog soon enough - the Big R in the distance (soon, my friend, soon)
At the top - the run down from the peak in the background to the lake was a possibility - might have been a better choice snow wise.

Our way out - reminds me that while you may not always get great snow, you are getting outside and getting away from it all and that almost always leaves me with few regrets for having gone:
