With weather in Washington looking sour for the Cascades we decided our best chance for weather would be the Olympics. kjkrow=Kyle, Dan and Myself Kyle Miller went out to Observation point for a four day tour.
Everyday at my work I watch the sunrises over the Olympic Mountains but never really head that direction.

After work on friday we all gathered up our gear and were heading towards Port Angeles by 4:00. After a long journey we made it up to Hurricane Ridge around sunset
Sunset as we Head off
That night was a long trek in the dark on a sloped snow pack. We made it 6.5 of the 7.5 miles to Eagle Point and called it a night.
The snowbank we called home the first night
From Eagle point you can see the sound
The next morning we hiked the last mile out to observation point
Hiking across the alpine
When we got there we dug out the bathroom and dropped off most of our gear inside. When we skinned up to the ridge we noticed a Solo Teleskier on top of a huge alpine bowl.
When he saw us he dropped in
After some aplause it was our turn
Dan dropping into the warm up run
Kyle Miller next
Checking whats behind the roller
Dan goes for it
Its steep but it goes through

We rode all the way down to Badger Valley then skinned out towards Elk Point which had some nice chutes on the North side

It had been a long hike so we rested for a few hours. For sunset we hiked up to obstruction point and watched the sunset before we rode back to basecamp

Day 3
Instead of heading North like we did on Day 2 we went South towards the Grand Valley.

A quick bootpack out
then it was resting for the long way home the next day
The sunset
The last morning we woke up to rain and decided just to hike out instead of taking one last run. It turned out to be a good idea because when we got to the car it started Hailing and pouring

Kyle Dan and Kyle you guys rock. Looks like you found nice conditions meaning my getting sketched out on my last souting mission means I'm a wuss. You guys ripped it all up, like you had said before, there is a lot of terrain in that area. Way to make a great weekend of it all. Thanks for the invite, sorry I had made other plans for my b-day weekend. I see I missed a hell of a trip.

Dang, you really beat me to it. Way to get this up so fast.
For curiosity's sake, I plotted everything out and did some math. My guess as to total distance is 25-26 miles, with around 10,700 feet of gain/loss. Totaling up the vert skiied puts us somewhere in the 7,500-8,000 feet range.
Good touring with you guys, and it looks like I can leave town right at 11:30 on Saturday. Right now, weather looks iffy to ok for Adams/Hood area.
