Hooked up with splitboard.com member Ale Capone today after a few failed connections the past two weeks. I had been under the weather for 3 weeks and since it was our first day riding together Ale Capone selected an area near Highway 2 that I believe is Nason Ridge.
Ale Capone on the skin in...with trusted pal Lucky
Skin in was maybe 3 miles, not sure, long and gradual elevation gain to the base of the ridge then it got steeper. Ridge in the background of Ale here.
After a longish slog due to the gloppy sloppy wet skin in Ale was ready to try to get a bit of air. (He'll post some shots of me wallowing after a failed kick turn and falling on my ass...or crushing the skin track and sliding down into oblivion) Check back, it should be funny.

This was the riding section that was most open. The ridge has a moderately tree covered upper section and we rode it, but then it opened up a bit. Nothing steep, sun soaked, wet, heavy, but very soft conditions.

About half way out the skin track (which Ale boarded down and Mumbles boarded until it flattened, then tried some very awkward XC ski glides out..skin free). This is a large boulder mushroom field that Ale wanted to hit. He boot packed up and rode down as I filmed. The conditions were so wet and slow that we have to come back so he can rip and fly these boulders.

BG, it was nice for sure, and the weather was fantastic. The snow was sun exposed and much too sticky for riding with any flow. I was clearly not in condition to do much from a leg or lung standpoint. That makes being out of shape even worse.
You back on your feet and killing it?
