TEX, give us a recap here.

Where are most sleeping? What are you planning on riding Saturday and Sunday? Later start on Saturday with all the boozin' Friday night?

We most likely won't make it, but in case we abort our volcano mission we might actually want to drive that far. It's actually not much farther to Mammoth than Shart Short Shasta.

I've got that one too, planning on bringing it... that is, if this damn flu doesn't sideline me! Hope to see you guys out there. I'm not assuming there will be convenient internet access for updating this thread. AFAIK, destinations are up in the air for Sat/Sun and will depend on what actually materializes with this possible weather.

Don't forget the Shart Shorts!

I gotta say that I've been working on my wife for weeks to let me go to this (I get a very long leash so when she says "no" she REALLY means it!),
but alas, her family is coming to town this weekend and she finally put her foot down :(

I'm really jealous I'm gonna miss out on all this, wishing you guys cool clear nights and warm sunny days :-)

corntacular!

My last reply as I head out the door:

CAMPING: holiday campground is closed...I was told it would be open but its not so I would suggest camping along Sherwin Creek Road. It is the turn off just south of the 203 Mammoth lakes exit. Turn west and go down the dirt road. There will be some pine trees about 2 miles in. If the road isnt too bad camp here. I didnt try it in the subaru but it looks fine.

We will be sleeping at Tom's Place resort. Cabin 25.
We are meeting at 7-7:30 every morning to figure out route and people. please at least buy a cup of coffee or a doughnut because this is a business and we will be crowding up the place so at least buy something.

The film/avy show will be at the Shilo Inn,Mammoth lakes California at 7:30 pm.

Pray for warm weather or 12 inches of new.

And yes times are in splitboard times PJ so hangovers will be recognized!

Let the games begin

Oh and as a default plan if its all hardpack we can go to Mammoth and ride in split mode on the groomers and watch the Roxy Chicken Jam

At this point, I'm hoping that means 80% chance of warm and sunny... :)

I've been in Mammoth this week and the forecast is changing constantly. There was a 20% chance of snow three different times and it never snowed. Always changed to breezy and sunny, as of now it changed to partly sunny for saturday. Looks like we have some flurries up on the mountain right now. Wuuhu 1/36 of an inch of fresh!
