I got kind of fired up about this event and put a little package together for the raffle. Sending to Bucky today...
Stoked to contribute back to the Splitboard community on behalf of SCOTT Sports. The package includes some stuff from SCOTT and Life-Link, which we recently purchased.
3 Next2Skin wool base layer tops, 5 straps, 2 Bike DVD's (had to add something bike related), 1 pair Gore-Tex gloves, 10 medical kits, 1 Life-Link pack, 1 Life-Link slope meter, 4 pairs of socks and 5x 50% discount cards for online purchases.

is Chimera going to be demoing boards? i would love to take a Unicorn Chaser out for a test drive.
I'm pretty sure Chimera is going to have demo boards available (not sure what/how many) Perhaps Bucky or Al can chime in if I'm mistaken, but I believe the demo day was scrubbed in favor of picking up boards at the Wednesday Meet n Greet?

Wait, chimp, your package of gear arrived but you forgot to ship that sweet Burton Performer that is in your photo! Just kidding.
That's funny, I did start a thread about selling the Performer in the picture: http://splitboard.com/talk/viewtopic.php?f=4&t=14893. I have an Performer Elite 140 and and Elite (150). I bought a 1982 Backhill and so these are "less cool" to me now, and I like the swallowtail version better than the flat back.
Stoked because I can join the tour on Friday and be at the movie night and raffle. May even bring a few local buddies.
Here's the list of Presenters for our Friday February 8th Main Event night, starting as promptly as possible at 7PM at the Canyon Inn, 3700 Fort Union Blvd:
-Brett Kowboy Kobernick (in his capacity as inventor) will present a retrospective of the development and evolution of the splitboard, and then (in his capacity as Avalanche Forecaster) will provide an analysis of our current snowpack.
-Tony Pavlantos will discuss safe backcountry protocol, route finding, and making wise decisions in the backcountry.
-Matt Jeglum will lead a discussion of the "Fact and Fiction of Wasatch Winter Weather."
-Carl Fisher of Save Our Canyons will talk about environmental issues, ski area expansion, and land use challenges that are critical to the preservation of our local backcountry terrain.
-Special visiting guest pro splitboard athlete Kyle Miller will give a presentation on how he was able to accomplish what was originally thought to be unobtainable, one step at a time.
After the presentations, we will have our Grand Raffle to benefit the Utah Avalanche Center. With over $5K worth of gear! You will have opportunities to buy raffle tickets Friday night at the Canyon Inn, from 7PM till the raffle starts sometime after 9PM.
There's no cover charge for the Canyon Inn that night if you get there by 9PM. Save your money for buying a splitfest t-shirt, and of course for raffle tickets.
We have got the following gear available for interested folks to demo during the splitfest:
-Venture Storm 166, Odin 164, and Storm 156 splitboards
-Several Chimera stock model splitboards
-Spark R&D Blaze bindings in medium, plus Burners in medium and large
-Phantom hardboot bindings
Thanks to our contributing manufacturers, who are generously making this demo gear available!
To borrow demo gear, you will need to provide your valid ID, provide valid credit card in same name, fill out a rental form, and sign our waiver(s). You will have an opportunity to pick up and drop off demo gear at our nightly events, which are Wednesday Feb 6th through Saturday Feb 9th - pick it up one night, return it the next. You get the gear for one full day.
If you have any specific questions, or are interested in reserving specific gear for a specific day, PM me, and we'll see if we can line that up for you. Otherwise, just swing by our evening events and we'll handle it there. Thanks for your interest and we hope you get a chance to try some of this gear out!
