Stoked for Splitfest 012!
I would love to enter the raffle, do you have to be present to win? if so any idea of what time drawings will be?
Yes, you must be present to win. You get to pick your own prizes for most of the raffle so being present is kind of important. The raffle is supposed to start @ 9 but this event is run by a couple of snowboarders so it's hard to tell exactly when it's going to start. The raffle is cash only
The latest box of goodies from One Ball Jay showed up with several hot wax kits and bunch of other items!
Well I'm pumped for baker and demos! Are there any other pdx'rs heading up? Carpool would be cool, I was thinking about rallying up in the day and truck camping/ dirtbagging it in the parking lot if anyone needs a ride up. - jp

There's a couple of us PDX'er heading up. You should post up in the PDX thread under Split Partners Wanted. You probably find someone to carpool. I know 2 of us are definitely camping in the parking lot.

Just a heads up that we have 6 splitboards to give away this year. The grand tamale board is a full setup from Karakoram/Jones! There are also 3 split your board services to give away too. One of those will be given to the worst DYI contest winner. This year's prize table will put last year's table to shame. And we're going to have a surprise contest on Saturday night.
Jones, Prior, Arbor, Chimera and Voile boards are planning on demos. Karakoram and Spark will be doing binding demos.
If you are planning a longer tour and want a demo board for the whole day talk to the reps the night before to get your board. Chimera is planning on only doing night before demos so they can tour all day.

Not to rain on the parade, but please everyone bear in mind that we're getting absolutely hammered with snow up here at the moment (110" over the past week). Check out the latest snow report from the Mt. Baker ski area: http://www.mtbaker.us/1011/snow_report/
Included are some photos of a huge slide from this morning off the Shuksan arm.
Hopefully conditions will be better by next weekend, but yesterday NWAC had avalanche danger at extreme on all aspects above 5000'.
The avy forecast went from f*ing scary on Thursday to manageable in 2 days. As always be careful out there and be willing to change your plans based on conditions. If the avy danger is high there is always in-bounds riding to be had at the resort that is right there.

Avy forecast is looking much better through this weekend. NWAC is reporting that the crown on the Shuksan arm slide on Thursday was around 15 feet! Crazy to think that the 15' or so of snow that slid all fell within the last 10 days.
Wow! Sounds like you guys did an awesome job gathering up sponsors - hope you raise a tonne for the NWAC. I know I'll be buying a bunch of tickets. Thanks very much for organizing this event. What time does the raffle start? Can you tell us a little more about the details - will someone from NWAC or one of the sponsors (or someone otherwise impartial) be running it? How can we pay for tickets - cash only or will you take credit cards? Are all six splitboards going to part of the raffle, including the Karakoram/Jones - meaning it can be won without the worst DYI or without a surprise contest?

Important! Demos will NOT be in the Mt Baker parking lot. Demos will be at Chair 9 Pizza for setup and returns.
All evening events will be at Chair 9 Pizza in Glacier.
Friday night 6 pm Meet and greet, we will have the current avalanche forecast and some tour suggestions based on conditions. We'll also be announcing details on the surprise contest then.
Saturday night 7 pm come get food and beer at Chair 9. Pete does us a huge favor by hosting this event so show him some love! 8 pm is the worst DYI contest. Winner gets a DYI service. Details can be found here http://www.splitfest.com/information/dyi-contest 9 pm is the raffle. Tickets are $2 each cash only and US funds. No checks, no credit cards. We'll start selling raffle tickets around 7 pm. We are putting a timer on picking your prizes this year to move things along. Once we verify your ticket you get 10 seconds to pick your prize. All the tickets go into a bin and are randomly drawn. If you're worried about the tickets being impartially drawn, volunteer to pick the tickets. That saves us from having to recruit somebody to do it. The split boards will be at the end of the raffle. The Karakorum/Jones combo will be the last raffle ticket drawn.
