Eastern Sierra, CA. 2.14 - 2.15.2009

me so happy!
goodale was in very good shape this past weekend. nearly 6k ft of climbing for about 4500 of continuous riding each day. another killer weekend playing in my favorite area of the high sierra.

sat was sunny and calm until about 11k ft then it was a bit windy. the new snow from last week was still fresh.


across the valley the inyo mtns had some nice snow

approaching the top of the area i was climbing. sat i only made it to within a couple hundred feet
of the top so sunday i decided to return and started earlier, climbed faster, and using my prev. day's skin track made really good time, reaching the turnaround from sat by 1pm. it then took me about 3 hrs to finish up due to very slow deep booting. sunday was a bit more cloudy and windy but better cond overall and riding from the top was very fulfilling.


looking back to the drainage behind goodale there are some amazing lines back there...




this peak is really fun but access is tricky


and lastly looking south to pinnacle. its looking a little wind stripped now.

If that's tricky for you, what sort of access does it require for the average mortal splitter?

With all the killer lines you hit, I'm confused why you never have any partners.
