Hi all,
Anyone have avalanche course recommendations in the Washington Cascades? There are a few organizations out here that do classes (I'm looking for level 1), but I'd love to hear about anyone's preferences or experiences...

I did AIARE Level 1 with American Alpine Institute in Bellingham - 3 straight days, worked out well, great instructors, and they were used to traveling with / teaching splitboarders.
There are a pile of additional ones listed via www.nwac.us.
One alternative that combines AIARE level 1 with additional BC skills (snow camping, etc) is the Ski & Snowboard Mountaineering course that the Foothills section of the Mountaineers puts on - http://www.foothillsmountaineers.org/wi ... mount.html
Splitboard-friendly, and worthwhile if you are in the greater Seattle / Bellevue area, and cheaper or comparable to the other AIARE level 1 courses.
