For the lack of snow, that day turned out to be one of the top five this season. Sunny skies, warm weather, no wind, and untracked pow, make for a great day. Here are a few more pics to add to the mix.
HFT looking at the chute next to our first drop.
and chuting it...
Unfortunately I screwed up on pics on the second drop. Lame.
The final drop I snapped a few, though I didn't get all the action I wanted to. Hike for turns dropping in.
and slaying it.
Bummer I missed him chuting the right couloir He was happy on the apron though.
Killz- I've notice you ride with Cody a lot, do you put an old beacon on him or something? I think I would be worried about him either starting or getting caught in a slide.
Maybe I'm just paranoid?
It worries me and no beacon on Cody. It's still considered bad Ju Ju to dig out your dog before your buddy. It also means I tend to be ultra conservative on what I'll do. I think that helps keep my bacon safe too. Last year HFT and myself backed out of an area because we thought it was too sketchy to have a dog. Without him we probably would have done it and maybe have regretted it. I'll have my partners hold on to him if I am doing something we are not 100% sure on. Like that last chute. I figure that if I can bomb down something weighing in at 240lbs and it doesn't rip, little 58lbs Cody ain't going to trigger much. He's good about waiting for me and doesn't jump the gun. Makes it easy to assess what the hell we are getting into and such.
It does freak me out a little, but it gives me extra incentive to make sound decisions when we are out there.
