Nice work! Looks like yet another stellar day on Tallac.
DD, I have question about that entrance to The Cross. Where exactly is that? Here's a shot standing on the mellower traverse entrance to it (above Babycham), looking over at what I thought was the main entrance (with the track in it). From your pics, I'm thinking that your entrance is in between these 2 points, just out of the pic to the right?

Yeah jimw. The direct entrance is out of the frame to the looker's right. The line with the track in it in your pic is referred to as the elevator entrance or elevator shaft. (to the best of my knowledge)

did you drive up 50? How shitty do you think the bottom slog to Pyramid is
We just got back this morning from La Casa Powda, and views of upper desolation looked like fantastic coverage, especially the Easterly slopes below price.
Top 500 ft on the east face of pyramid looked speckled with rocks, but below it looked good. I don't remember what the S side looked like, but i'd bet it's thin coverage.
All of the lower slopes next to 50 on the S side are toast. If you're going up rocky canyon at least you have a nice trail until you get to snow, which i'd bet would be in the trees or where you cross the creek.
if you're going up and spending some time camping in the upper elevations, then coverage will probably be good, and it'd be worth it, but pyramid S side as a day hike seems like it'd be iffy.
North Trees on powder house today held heavy, heavy soft snow, with a slight crust up high and a noticable crust down low. It's definitely time to start seeking E/SE corn, but not sure if it's gone the cycle yet (anyone know?) Cathedral chute on tallac looked fantastic. might head up maniana.

We were at Talking Mtn. this weekend and it looked really bad coming up from 50. But like Towlie said, Deso has pretty good coverage. There looked like nice tracks down NE bowl of Pyramid but didnt' see any other tracks anywhere else.
