Gameplan: Hookey day for the kids to go snowboarding with dad

Duration: n/a

Intro: Spring is upon us and one of my favorite things to do this time of year is to take the kids to the resort. The temps are warm, skies are sunny, and the crowds are minimal. Its a perfect time to share my love for the mountains and snow with my kids.

My daugter has only been snowboarding for two years but we've been going to the snow since she was one or two. She's remembered these trips over the years and wouldn't let us leave until we "dig a cave". So here I am at 5:00pm digging a cave. Totally worth it. :)

We found a little jib.

You can give no better gift to your children than the gift of shredding at a young age...

You are a father of the highest order. Way to teach those groms to keep their priorities in order. Plenty of time for work in life. :D

Strong work BC Rider. Great way to build cred with them. Funny how if you are used to talking to your kids about how to manage a steep drop or cliff shot or something, it can segway into a discussion about other things in their lives when the time comes.

I've now got three that are better riders than me - next step is to get them out of the resort and into self-propulsion. I've been doing it with bribery - whenever one of them does the mountain behind our house w/ me they get dinner out at a restaurant of their choice.

Remember that age and treachery can overcome youth and skill!
