Went on a rather long tour up in "the Park" yesterday. My buddy Chris and I originally hoped to make some tracks down the Spoon Couloir (a classic line on Disappointment Peak), but we didn't feel very good about going after once we got to Amphitheater Lake at the base of the line. We weren't feeling super confident about the stability as there seemed to be a lot of loading at the top. We were also pretty worked from the ~4K of vert we just climbed, so we decided to hit some of the north facing slopes just to the south of the lake to tack on another 500 ft. of vert to our day.
Temps were pretty frigid in the morning. -26 F at the Jackson Hole airport before leaving the warmth of my house. Weather stations at higher altitudes were reporting an inversion, and the sun was shining, so why not go for it? Cold temps proved to not be too much of an issue, as long as we kept moving.
All in all, it was a pretty awesome day. 10 hrs and ~4500 of vert! We were the first ones to be up there since it snowed last, which seems like forever ago, and we didnt see another soul all day. We were able to get up pretty high and got some excellent views along the way. Every time I head into these mountains, I get more and more amazed by these peaks in winter. The Tetons are where it's at!

Aaaah yeah! The Tetons in winter [/i]are where it's at! It's been pretty cold here in the northwest, but -26 degrees? Damn! I don't miss that part of living in the valley.

Great pics. It looks like you had a great tour. The views alone are worth the work - fo sho!
