Battery life is never that great when you take electronics into the mtns in the winter. I always take at least one extra battery to be safe.

In terms of the Canon HV10 battery life I'd say that its not the greatest. I dont know if HD draws more power or if the battery is just week but it seems to only last about 40mins. Its not that big of a deal though (other than more $$) to carry an extra. They also make a longer life battery that I'll be getting soon for longer trips when 2 isnt enough.

Get one! You'll never go back to SD. 8)

So nice BCR

Did you keep the MPEG2 coding from the minidv's once you downloaded to computer? Or did you swap over to 720?

I will be using the Quicktime Pro on my website (getting updated) and playing around with the H.264
http://www.apple.com/quicktime/technologies/h264/

I just ordered the Sony HDR HC7 shipping out in Feb 19th

It is a palm size HD camcorder and will have my helmet cam set up to up when in descent mode. I really like Skullcamz.com camera!! It is the only one that I have found to have Super HAD Processor at 580 lines and cheaper than most less quality ones.

Was the camera on a tripod or monopod like during those first two vids?

I tape hothands to camera or at least have Body Size one in case. Extra Battery as well. I am up for 8-20hours at a time so have too.
