Objective: Table Mountain, West Tetons 11,106 feet
Elevation gained:4151 feet
Today was an amazing day in the Tetons. I have been searching for this day all season. The snow was quality, friends indeed, lots of climbing, and sublime views. Did I say sublime views? And Steve Romeo set a great bookpack and skin track the day before. A big thank you bro and thanks for the beta! Not too many action photos...no splitboarding...sorry fellas...but great views and our snowpack is coming back.
Table Mountain and route:
Trailhead and ominous sign. Could this be a sign?
Lower elevations beginning to fill in:
Another beautiful morning in the mountains and another objective spotted:
We had to bootpack for about 1500 feet and then the monkey came off the back:
More lines off Teton Canyon North Fork:
We finally get the first views of Table Mountain's summit (right) with the Grand Teton in the background:
Skinning to the base of the summit:
We had to boot the last thirty feet to the summit. Rock and ice.
Did I mention the sublime views yet? Nick and Brad take a moment's silence on the summit of Table. Grand Teton in the backdrop:
View of the Grand from Table:
Matt happy to be alive and wishing he could live in a yurt up here:
Wyomingsplit_ride feel's much the same even though he has two sticks on his back:
In order to ski from the top of Table you have to drop off the North side. Romeo said that there would be some poking around to find the "good ol' entrance." His tracks from the day before were hard to find, but we did after pokin' round:
Matt drops into the North bowl from the summit:
And finally after dropping 4151 feet we felt that we had earned our turns. Happy to be back at the ominous sign:

Wondered if it was - storm tracks seem to be headed your way lately...Thanks WSR! Great stuff! What inspired the 2 plank ride though?
Keeps going downhill here - we're going to have to travel to get any + a nasty ice formation setting up on N aspects could make for a bad avy situation if the next comes in wrong.
wow with the grand Teton right there next to you is AMAZING. it actually felt like you were a part of history. it is basically a National known landmark. totally jealous dont have much here in the NorthEast.
Lew-chose skis because I have already been snowboarding four times this season and it was a pretty long slog with some flat sections and mad traverses. It was a good choice for this feature. Next weekend though.....hmmmm nothin but the split.

Once again you are bothering me with your early season pack. Remeber what that caused last year. Keep posting those pics buckaroo, Im crusing travelocity as we speak
Might be some sort of porn hot spot, 420.....with Tetons, nipples and all, huh huh. Way to kick off the TR season for yo'self Wyo.. Looking good.
Way to get some elevation! Wish we had those kind of hills round here. Can*not wait till Scrub fest! We'll be there round New Years too, maybe we can get a little sneak preview from ya one day?
And whats up with the kid on the bike? He's just kinda funny looking....in a general sort of way.
