Ok, those without snow asked...

The price paid these past 2 days were significant. Lots of dirt hiking, stashing of hiking boots in the brush, skiing rock slabs in tour mode on descent, numerous creek crossings, and just alot of pain in general. That makes me a prime candidate!

Day 1:

Started walking at 8AM in BCC. We headed up Cardiff and interrupted a family breakfast.



It began snowing heavily and lasted until about 1:30



Conditions became near whiteout where we were in George's area.



Dodging the early season rocks with the limited visibilty made for spicy conditions. The new heavy snow was pristine as well!

Day 2:

Got a later start on Sunday, the gate had been locked at a lower elevation, so this added about 1.5 miles rt to my journey for the day. Weather outlook was much better, and as I got into rideable terrain, I saw two of my buddies- Jivestick and MC making turns where a different friend and I had broke trail the day before. That's what friends are for!



We met up, had a quick safety meeting and decided to skin up to the top of Cardiac Bowl on the backside of Superior. Here's the carnage ( ) we left behind...



The personal highlight for me was seeing a steep rollover that narrowed between the brush. I couldn't resist going this way. Suddenly it cliffed out into a no-snow coverage rockband. I had to go that way! Pulled out the whippets and downclimbed to more snow.

Right on, Karma. I'd dry hike several miles for turns right about now. Thanks for the stoke.

Thanks Karma!...Looks great...Mighty wrath of the chinooks is in full force today here 60mph gusts & 58f @ 5am...so much for the great early start up north.

What's up with the big turns?

It looks good to me. I just might be there on The day after turkey day. Keep it comin.

I did want to point out to Ecobrad that Jivester went out of his way to make some big ass turns for this photo



Yes he was on skis (testing Voile protos even), and for a minute I wasn't sure it was Jive I was watching. On the snowboard he always makes big turns, and just for the record, I have never had to wait for Jivestick, it's always the other way around!

Good to see the TR coming from ya Karma Surf. Looks quite fun and it's tempting to hit the road for some turns right now.

Right on jive and crew...can't wait to break out the big stick for the sessions, no pun intended, the deep is coming.....
