This last saturday a group of friends and I deceided to hike in the 5 miles to the Mt. Timp snowfield to get some turns. There was a fair amount of more snow their than there had been 9 days prior. Most of the party started skinning at Hidden Lake, while I post holed up to Emeral Lake with my girlfriend who didn't bring a board or skis.
Seeing as it was deer hunting weekend, there were a ton of orange vests dotting the hills around the mountain. I think we saw around 15 hunters in just one drainage. You have to love Utah hunters.

Skinning up the snowfield
The snow was not quite powder, and a little punchy, but it felt great to be out and feel the cool air in our lungs. Some of us took a few laps while the others just had one go at the run.
The whole trip took about 12 hours, and we arived back at the parking lot just as it was getting dark.
