So DrKoKo, a few of our two-plank free-heel brethren and myself decided since the snowpack in UT sucks we would go for a little walkabout in Red Pine and see if we could find some breakable crust to frustrate the tele-folkel. As we got up near the Pfiferhorn it became obvious that the snowpack was worse than we expected and the nuking winds didn't make a ridge scramble very appealing.
The Pfif.

So we followed the guidance of Chroncornlander and headed this way, the stairway to the unknown. Chroncorn assured us there was an open bowl with a foot of re-crystallized over a 8 foot base and naked ladies at the bottom waiting to pleasure us.

We got this instead.

We were in it to win it so Chroncorn drops it like it's hot.

With the single plankers outnumbered 3 to 2 it was decided that the two plankers got dibs, which was fine, our free-heeled brethrens increased mobility allowed them to thoroughly probe the chute for snow snakes and other gremlins.

EZduzit goes for a base hit, and luckily struck out.

Mr.Wilcorn spreads his wings shortly before finding a python.

And then it was the knuckledraggers.

“Hey Mr. UB, how do you feel about your first run on a shiny new Never Summer split down a narrow run with crappy coverage?â€Â

You gotta NS split? Luuckyy!

Its about time you got that thing. Hopefully we'll be able to make it out to Wasangeles and you can show us some goods. I got a free ticket to Alta, too bad they dont allow our kind there. They's racialist,yo. If you know anyone that wants to buy an Alta day pass for a discounted price let me know.

You fools better make it to UT this winter. But if our snow doesn't pick up quick we may be headed to CO, WY or somewhere else. Although we just got a nice new dump, unfortunately we need about 3 big ones and some good bonding to fill in our rocky ass terrain and bring our avy danger down. We have an awefully CO-like snowpack this year and it sucks. :P

As for the Alta pass, everyone I know that's brotally gnar enough to qualify on the Alta sickterscale already has a season pass there.

I hear it's "off the chain", whatever that means.

UB

Good work to make the best out of some mediocre conditions!
Thanks for the pics.

Great report - very funny. Man, dropping such a boney chute on a brand new NS split?!? That takes some nerve. I think I maybe would have downclimbed, lovingly cradling it in my arms...

I didn't know Utah had it so bad - now I know why boardergirl didn't harrass us with more insane powder shots this weekend.
