Way to bring the early season stoke... Thanks for taking the time to put that together for the rest of us to enjoy...

Was up in Tahoe last week and enjoyed a few afteroon snowshowers on Friday at lake level... Brought me back to this place in anticipation of the winter to come... New vid here just waiting to further boost the stoke... Thanks!

What camera did you get? Are you going to use Final cut express HD or Final cut Pro? Im thinking about going all out and getting this

But I have been reading and talking to people about all the issues that involve HD editing. Im not sure my PC will handle it. It takes LOTS of space and LOTS of RAM.

Im may have to go this route

I have been burning up editing forums trying to get the right camera/computer/software combo . This HD shit is a whole new world from SD

I got the Canon HV10 as it reviewed better than Sony's offering for consumer based HDV. So far I'm really stoked on its small size and picture quality. No going back to SD now. 8)

The XH you linked is quite a step up from the HV10 (about $2500 more). Of course it has better quality but the HV10 should be fine for my needs. In regards to the computer, I was going to go the portable route (laptop) and get a Macbook Pro but I think I'm just going to get a desktop this year and a laptop sometime in the spring. I'm going with the 20'' imac 2.33ghz, 2g ram, 250g harddrive, 256mb graphics card, etc. Its not the top of the line for editing but I'm on a budget and it should work fine for what I need to do. I'll probably play with iMovie HD since it comes with the OS (and it will help me sell it) but I'm sure I'll load Final Cut Express HD and FCP eventually since I have access to them.

The Mac Pro would be a better solution but a little out of my price range. Good luck with it all and let me know before you buy anything Apple.

Yeah the computer is wishful thinking on my end. But Im close to pulling the trigger on the camera. I just hope I dont fall into a money pit upgrading my PC one step at a time.
