5:30am rolled around real early this morning. I was however I was awake and ready to roll due to the 50-60 MPH gusts raging in my neighborhood. The winds complimented by large evergreen and Fir boughs slamming to the ground (one javelined in 10"). Checkin' the Telemetry till we lost power I saw a spike to 34 degrees at 12 midnight, however calm winds were blowing the hills early in the day.

After a brief meet-n-greet in Monroe our group of 6+ wonder dog "cosmo" headed out reaching the TH about 7:30 and on the trail about 8:00. The 34 degree temp. spike was evident in the parking lot crunch, and winds calm for the 1st 700-800 ft. after which the snow was increasingly tolerable, with increasing winds. Better and better all the way up to appx 5200'.

Quick pit showed consistent snow down to 7" or so inches, then a loose 3 finger zone appx. 2 inches thick followed by solid pack for 2.5' or so. Happy with the results and knowing we'd be sticking it to the trees it was on. Our party of 6 was well suited for paring off and keeping eyes on each other on each of three descents for the day.

The trees at Yodelin are real good. Great considerable to high AV danger terrain. 1st pitch is probably 7-900' long then a logging road to another 3-400'. transitioning back to skin mode and off to skiers left to hook up w/ our original up-track. Lapped this zone twice then up to the false summit and down to the car. This tour has a terrific out-ski w/ NO ski mode transition to end the day. Always nice.

Great trip....beers and grub on the way home to top it off
