Through the wonders of the interweb and social media I hooked up with an old friend from back in the day (Kevin Jones) for some climbing and camping. Kevin is still killing it harder than ever and it was great to catch up (literally hadn't seen each other in 18+ years).
Hogsback is a feature in the popular Lover's Leap climbing area that we splitboard in during the winter. It was sweet to see this side of it and climb right next to the snowboard lines. Thanks KJ!
October has been great in Northern California, leaving the trailhead with only a couple hours of light left
Kevin patiently waiting for winter
Unknown climbers on the east wall (100 feet from the snowboard lines)...hope to be able to climb this someday!
KJ leading the way and hooking up the noob with some chalk
Enjoying the fall color across the valley
Back to climbing, KJ
We topped out at dusk, enjoyed a couple sport beers, and watch some climbers on east wall finish their climb (see headlight on the left)
Morning view of the Crystal Range (my winter zone)
We spent the morning bouldering and then back to the Leap, KJ taking a look
Kevin's buddy Jason joined us too...turns out he knows dishwasher dave, small world
Lens flare or flashback...your decide
Kevin on lead killing it
Thanks again man, looking forward to more adventures. #winteriscoming
