Old School TR
April 23, 2013

To all my colorad-bros: I hope you can get out on a tour soon and have some fun. I've been thinking of you and was inspired to post up a TR.

This was a typical goofy day in the Tioga pass backcountry under typical spring California conditions (blue skies, strong sun, and warm). It's hard not to have fun when getting out with fellow splitboarders, who tend to be a goofy lot, and the ridiculousness is often contagious, especially when it's combined with wicked terrain and good snow.

I put together this goofy video of splitboarders having fun. It was shot on a point and shoot with a scratched lens. It's out of focus, the riders are out of frame, and it's over-exposed. But the riders are rad and the terrain is gnarly :). No GoPros, dubstep, or Matrix-inspired super slow-mo. Just some dudes skinning, scrambling, and shredding with a hilarious audio commentary and some rock and roll from 2005.

"These are the things we do for fun."

Take care and stay safe.

Yes, it was GNARLY. I watched the video again and counted the times the word was used: 5. Statistics don't lie. SCIENCE!

Ha. That's the nice thing about touring in CA; 77% of the time it doesn't matter if your shell is 4.2-ply Goreflex (TM) or iVent (TM). I usually just tour in my flannel PJs and insulate with crumpled up newspaper. If I get hot, I just roll around in the snow.

That's all well and good, man, but Skrillex is not, like, REAL dub step!
