After wasting a lot of time with these awesome trip reports, I decided to try and waste some of your time.
Last week it had been dumping, with more then 50cm of fresh on various places. Although a slight fever weakened me, it didn't stop me from getting out there first thing on Saturday morning. It was after all weekend, and clear blue skies were predicted.
The plan was to head up to the Valley of Doran, from where you have an awesome view on the Pointe Percee, a pointy Matterhorn-esque peak in the French Aravis.
Once in the valley, you can see legion of options to take. We decided to follow the masses and head for the 2368m high Quatre Tetes (the four heads).
We were not the first, and absolutely not alone on the skintrack. At one point I counted over 40 people on the mountain. Crazy!
The tour is a long one, and it took about 4 hours to reach the summit.
View was rewarding though, with the Mt Blanc in the background.
Although there were a lot of people, there was still plenty of un-tracked pow to be found. Not too many pics of the descent, sorry. It was too good to stop!
After a good 5 hours on the mountain we were back at the van, totally destroyed. Can't wait for next weekend...
