Melanie (weekend warrior turned aspiring snowboard bum) and I decided to get out for an early season tour this weekend. This was Melanie's first ever tour on a splitty. She did awesome! Especially given the early season conditions. Between taking off and putting back on our skis due to low coverage of the up track, a gruelling 7hr hike into the Asulkan hut, and some really short, but surprising deep turns, we managed to have a good time. Here is a shot taking this morning from the Asulkan hut in Rogers Psss, BC.
Gotta give Aaron, owner of Revelstoke Powder Rentals, a special thanks for taking the time to open his shop and renting me a split so I could get up into the mountains. If anyone needs to rent BC equipment he's your man. Check out his store ---> http://www.revelstokepowderrentals.com/

Thanks for the reminder! Got to get out to the pass this year. Two hours with the ferry ride! Local peaks have three feet of snow above 2000m. That's a start right?!
