At least I hope it's back, winter that is, and it seems to be here in AK! Hopefully to stay. So here's a little photo journal of our recon mission today, Sept. 29 2012.
And away we go!
heading towards our goal
past a little distraction
above and away from the train of hikers on a nearby mountain
so uh, what do we have here?
Deep and Consolidated Snow is what we have Here!
Pits and Pow!
pits and POW!
and we're off again, past some more distractions
and making some short turns after a long walk
So what did we learn today? Well, first off... IT'S BACK!!! It looks stable, and sitting in a lazy boy watching snow-porn is no way to get ready for winter. Fruck I'm sore!!! But I can't wait to get back and actually attain that goal, and maybe some side trips to boot.

Jebus! Is that all from the last storm?? I've been enviously watching my girlfriend's (from Anchorage originally) pals' facebook updates over the last week or so.

Now that's what I call a start to a season. Hopefully by Thanksgiving we'll be filled-in enough to have complete runs, stoked for that much snow by Christmas.

It's 25 degrees out right now! That means no scantily clad women here, but I have one of those already to keep me warm at night. The mountains are my eye candy anyways and therefore I think I might stay, thanks for the offer though TEX. And Yes, yes I do SUCK.

If I'm not mistaken you guys had only a few pow-free months this year. Screw vacations. I need to move to AK. Next up for you kids: extra-tropical remnants of Typhoon Jelewat. Hang on and enjoy... Jealous.

Was nice out today, so I drove up to Thompson Pass to see what the snow situation was like up there. We didn't get as much as you guys did, but there are already tracks on several runs (I even saw snowmachine tracks! What?!) Hopefully it doesn't rain up there this week.

Actually, the mountains got snow every month this year thus far, Every Month! That's why it's SO DEEP up there right now, not just because of this last storm which was a Whopper! Not really looking forward to this storm though, supposed to be warm... and we've had enough rain. The town of Seward was literally under water for a while, 8" of rain in 2 days I believe followed by another 6" a couple of days later. Oh, and don't forget the 130 mph winds around here. I'm not even kidding or exaggerating, you can fact check it. What is going on around here??? Well let my show you, we went out again today and this is what we found...
Back out to the mountains for round 2...
Past the crevasses
and over the hills
to grandmothers house we go, I believe it's up there...
now where's Waldo, and his dog, again?
There he is
making turns
in the white room
and painting his masterpiece
and we're out!
YEAH 2012/13, BRING IT!!!!!!!!!!!
...and oh yeah, I feel much better today.
