After 7 mths of rehab on the ankle I finally made it out on my first Spring day trip.
Headed out with 4 others from Charlotte Pass on Sat
Took the cat up to the Charlotte turning circle and headed out.







We then headed for the Snowy River, lucky there were still some snow bridges left so we didn't have to get wet.





Then we headed out to the area in question.







This is the what we came to ride, Carruthers Peak

A small boot pack up the wind lip and we were almost there.

Another skin up to the ridge and we hit Mt Lee





Another lap of these two and we headed back for the cat at 3.45pm





Picked up the beers we stashed at the turning circle for a well deserved thirst.

This was what I found after taking my boots off! 7 months of lounge surfing!



I made a small change to the walk mode. Will be reversing the change I think.

Looks like a some fun spring touring. You need to carry some duct tape, and tape up those hot spots before they turn to blisters.

I'd like to do blue lake next year, I can see it on the google map photo you cut and paste.





I've never been to charlotte's, how much is the cat?


... and next year don't have the splitfest on the weekend I go to Feathertop!!!

Im jealous! Let me know if you head back out this year.

The cat from Perisher is normally $80 but spring was $50. There's also the snow tube if you're doing over nighters so that another $50 ouch!!!
After the long weekend you can drive up there so free!
PS the Feather top trip look sick, best weekend of our season too, shame I was not riding for more than half the day

Were out there again for sure (when the wounds are good prob 5/10/12), multi day trip I think so we can hit little Austria, Blue lake etc, etc.

Great report and pics Adam,those blisters look nasty.I got one a bit before splitfest,i was not happy but a product called compeed got me through.I only put the patch on for riding,i just let it dry out the rest of the time.

Nice I'm still mt. biken here in Arizona one day i'll be taken a summer trip to Aussie land with my split those mountains look fun. Are those cabins in the background?

Those "cabins" are a Ski resort!
The Ski resorts in Australia are only small.
Get on over here, we have some good BC which is super safe, just don't have the vert.
There are 3 or 4 large BC areas in Australia to ride, but they are a 5-6 hrs of driving apart.
We prob have another 4-6 weeks of spring touring left before it completely disappears.
The surf is pretty good also in winter over here too.

I am really stoked on these Australia reports. Great job. Looks very nice.

Rad! I am still blown away by the fact that you can splitboard down under. Terrain looks pretty fun and unique. Would love to make some turns down there one day.
