Been having fun on Cache Creek lately. First time on the river this summer was on June 27. Hooked up with Tom, a packrafter from Napa. We paddled the entire run. 25 miles. 17 miles of Wilderness and then 8.5 miles along highway 16.

Spent the past two days on the river. Hooked up with bobskiing from teletips on July 17. At the last minute, my buddy jibC joins the party. We paddled 27 miles. Took it a little past the usual take-out @ Haswell. The bridge at Rumsey was our take-out.
Was going to camp out on Tuesday night for my Wednesday trip, but decided to head home and get some rest. I live about an hour from the put-in...
Drove back out on Wednesday morning with Tom, the packrafter. We paddled the whole 25 miles. Took a spill above the Mad Mike rapid (mile 17) and got banged up a bit. Hit a rock on the entry and once out of the boat, hit a rock with my left hip. Then, a few seconds later, my face gets slammed into my kayak, bruising my nose and taking a layer of sunburnt skin. I can barely walk with my bruised hip, so I called in sick for work tonight. Hopefully, the swelling will have gone down for work tomorrow.
Videos will be appearing all day today on my Youtube page. Starting with June 27 and followed by July 17 and 18.

I can limp around a bit... the left hip hurts bad. No bruise. Only a mark from a very small impact point. Must have been a sharp-pointy rock. Deep muscle damage... nothing serious.
But my nose is worse than I thought. Just after that damn rock slammed my hip, the boat and my face met. I was coming up out of a wave and the boat was coming down. The boat met my nose HARD and scraped multiple layers of skin off my sunburnt nose.
Nothing broken, but very swollen and more layers of skin lost than I thought. Oozing of puss and blood. Trying to scab over now, but still leaking...
