there was some freshies up there (8 inches down to 9000 ft.)! about a 20 mile round trip with 8,000 vertical feet of climbing, in 14 long hours. parking is still at crofton ridge trailhead due to big snow drifts, leaving 4 extra miles of dirt road walking.

was able to skin all the way to the top of pikers peak. a couple of portages at the lunch counter.

totally sick! anyone who did not get enough of winter head to washington volcanoes now!

Nice! Impressive day trip man. Love the gap video too! Yesterday was a beautiful day to be out! We were on Rainier with many others, just on the Muir snowfield.

Nice job! I'm hoping to hit this sometime between the 9th and 11th. You think one will be able to drive up the road a bit further?

thers quite a few big snowbanks so its questionable. on a related note killen creek th is open...nfnwr...

Looks like a sik day Chris!

I saw a report from this last weekend that says the road is now open all the way to Cold Springs. :thatrocks:

If anyone is headed over there I'm interested in doing another trip down the SW chutes this year.
