The goal of a June trip to the Tetons was ostensibly a head-to-head comparison of the Unicorn Chaser (tapered pow) and the Orb (true twin) on corn and boilerplate. In reality, we were expecting to drink some beers by the river and watch summer move in on God's Country.
What we settled for were swirling mists around gnarly peaks, getting shacked, and blasts of fresh powder to the face.
Warning: Shitty photos to follow.
Late start on Saturday morning, so we gaped at bears with the other tourists then took the tram to the top.
Bucky and Jason get some knowledge on Puckerface, No Shadow and Four Shadow from a local billionaire.
After dropping in on some frozen junk for a few lines...
...we retreated to the lodge for tall-boys and waffles.
Bucky, back at the tent. Sometimes it takes a photobomber to catch a photobomber.
Earlier start the next morning, a few hours of hiking a summer trail took us to Garnet Canyon. Lines to the left, lines to the right......
We skinned up, hoping to find a point where we could gaze up the skirts of Grand Teton. But the weather wasn't having it, so we decided to shred instead. Buck drops in and finds himself in a shack.
Jason plots the next move. You guessed it, heelside slasher.
When hunting, don't watch the Unicorn. Become the Unicorn. Bucky channels the soul.
Jason at the mouth of Cave Couloir.
Met this guy on the way out. Just another friendly Jackson local, showing us the way.
Amazing trip. We barely scratched the surface but it's clear the Teton's are something else.
