Approaching Taylor Pass


Now we have entered our arena with objective peak straight ahead. Pastoral doesn't have the steepest lines in the pass but is the highest peak on the non-motorized side at 4764'.

It has really been an awesome season. It all started in Sept on Jewel and who knows when it will end !

Just curious if there was any wind up there & which direction as you were skinning up? Looks pretty ideal for kite approach/summit

Winds were light during most of the tour with the exception of pass, ridges, and summit where the winds picked up a bit >10mph which was refreshing. It was an exceptional spring day for touring .

You are correct, even Sun in it's name Well worth the price of admission if you ever get up here

Last time I was there in may. Gusty winds 40+ knots, area to ride is narrow and there is also a creek on the right side...
