finally completed the checklist for little slide canyon. this is a unique playground, worthy of return trips. the residents of buckeye canyon 3 mile dry hump from mono village. easy with gray sky to keep things a little cooler. a little more struggle than expected to gain the canyon. will actually get easier when the patches of punchy snow melt out. kettle on right, hulk on left. nice to see the clouds breaking at this point. hulk with both chutes. skiers right had a track. got that one two years ago. i'm here for the other side. getting closer, i was getting fired up to stand at the base this this great wall. and climb the chute, of course. how many lines do you see? yeah, i guess there's a few ways up there beautiful but slow climbing. the snow was boot to knee deep porn and powder even though the chute doesn't top out, it makes for a cool granite amphitheater. this could be fun! happy to be at the top i could have hung out here for hours for a low snow year, things look pretty good here

Nice work Brainsteak. Hulk right and left are way up there on my list. I was riding Gilcrest that day I think (the 18th?). And I also made an attempt on west couli (which isn't in condition anymore) / ski dreams yesterday but didn't get up quite early enough to feel comfortable with the lower elevations had I put that final boot in. Had a fun run from that shoulder down to the secondary couloir in any event, and I can't get enough of that zone. Plenty of unfinished business for me out of Twin Lakes. Anyway, thanks for the beta. I'll throw up a full trip report in a few days.

Awesome! But wow is it thin back there. I did a throwback TR of this line last year: viewtopic.php?f=5&t=10221 Your Sawtooth pic looks promising...if it ever freezes or snows again :/
Silver, how close did you get to ski dreams/west cooly? How is west cooly not in condition anymore?

I made it up into the cirque and started up ski dreams before some wet slides in the other side if the cirque let me know it was time to be getting down. I may have the names wrong but the couloir to the west sideif the summit block was pretty melted out with lots I'd salt and pepper. It looked like you could pick your way through if you had to but it wouldn't be how I would want towant to rise a classic like that. The couloir to the east od the block looked good as dis ski fewacs. I'll post photos in a day or so. Just logged on from my phone while barting to work.
