Woke up this morning with BIG plans for the day for we've had a high pressure system sitting on us for a while now creating LOW avy conditions for the past week. But with high pressure comes COLD temperatures! Watch This...

Yes, you can make "snow" out of hot water when it's

NEGATIVE 29 DEGREES OUTSIDE!!!

But like I said in the video, "Let's go skiing!" by which I mean snowboarding of course. So we loaded up and headed out for TT4430 which stands for Terrain Trap 4430'. You definitely need LOW avy conditions for this one. So here we are testing the waters

for you surely do not want to fall in and get wet today!

So, as you can see, the whole mountainside funnels into a big bowl and down a tight canyon. Hence the name TT. We skinned straight up the canyon and then broke lookers right up the "safety zone" of the shoulder. Except it was bullet proof ice. My buddy "crawling" in the"relatively" flats


The ice wall took us by surprise and we expended much much more time and energy then was expected. But we topped out after some very harrowing experiences.

(note to self, invest in a whippet and some crampons!)

After battling the ice we were both mentally and physically exhausted. And the daylight goes fast here still, so we decided to call it a day and make our return home via some pow on the south side.
