As many of you know there is no gosh darn snow in the Wasatch. I moved to Park City last June in search of splitter and the summer was exceptionally satisfying. The snow last year in Chamonix was disappointing to say the least and we're not out to a very good start here in Utah. I'm beginning to think I'm cursed by the snow gods for some reason, I don't know why that would be... I just want so bad to shred this elusive Utah blower I've been hearing about for years. SO BAD!

I got a ski patrol job at the Canyons but haven't been called to work because of the lack of snow so I've been touring almost everyday since mid November regardless of the minimal snow conditions. It's actually been really good considering my standards for powder have ceased to exist because I haven't ridden any for almost two years. Last season in Chamonix was an epic battle in search of powder so I'm pretty accustomed to shredding ice, chunder, rocks, trees and everything in between. I know sliding is always best no matter how bad it is sometimes.

Most people I know haven't been touring at all because they're so disheartened by the conditions. I say poo poo. Last week we shredded Suicide Chute on Mt. Superior while my friend Claire watched us from her kitchen. It was effin sick!!!!!!!!!!! Nice, soft-ish windboard that you could really sink an edge into.

We got down, met my friend Claire and ate dozens of Christmas cookies and then went up the other side of Mt. Superior to shred the north face. The bootpack was torturous, never ending, non packable sugar death at the beginning then got easier as we got higher.

Way to get out there anyway. Shit, I've been out on the split once this season and that was back in November. Driest December on record in Seattle (or something like that anyway). Looks like we are getting some tonight though!

Nice stoke! Even though conditions have been less than ideal most places this season, looks like you've been killing it with what you've been given!

Liz: way to be motivated, around here it is slim to none when it comes to snow, please move out of the Wasatch/Rockies immediately! (Just kidding...) Seems like Europe is not getting much at all either...
Here, the coverage is just so thin that extreme caution is required, even on the limited terrain which is even snow covered. Just got to keep hope alive...
