Snowfall has been pretty sparse for us down here in SWMT so far. Until last week, most areas around the Bozone had little more than a couple feet of facets on the ground (which actually make for pretty good riding if you can avoid hitting the ground underneath). Besides Hyalite, it seems like many areas may still have the super shallow snowpack. My pals and I have been trying to turn lemons into lemonade by exploring some new-to-us areas in the Henry's Lake Range near West Yellowstone that offer up long, consistent pitches with a nice, meadowy surface underneath. Lucked out a couple times. Nice long gully south of Lionhead, in the Targhee Creek drainage 2' of facets on the ground, just supportable enough to make you want to jump around a bit. Rode like powder. Spotted this area from the top, vowed to check it out next weekend: ...and we did (but with no other splitters unfortunately) Finally made it to one of my favorite spots in the GYE on 12/23, and found it to be in excellent condition. ...and a slightly boring vid. It's been rough around here.
