You guys who shoot and edit video, what software are you using to edit? I shoot a little with my point 'n shoots and I'd like to start putting it all together. And, I'm a total newb when it comes to posting to Vimeo, Youtube, etc.
Oh, I should mention, I'm on PC.
Thanks

Rico your Windows OS likely has Windows movie maker installed, which is pretty lame, but easy to use and its free. Its a single track editor (e.g. you can drop multiple videos into the single track and fade between them, more limited than multi-track editing)
Pinnacle systems has similar, but better editor that follows the same paradigm.
Of course there are the full blown Pinnacle, Vegas and Adobe Premiere programs, but those are $$$$
As for OS... Use the OS you have/like, or that runs your favorite programs... I use Windows on my personal machine and main business machines, but being in the graphics/software industry I'm forced to use both Mac OS and Linux. Personally I think Windows (for all its faults) is right in the middle of the two. But each has its advantage and suit different users...
One analogy goes something like this... Mac users like to relax and ride in airplanes Win users like being able to fly the airplane Linux users like modding and flying the airplane
