Eventually I'd like to make a mobile version of splitboard.com optimized for iPhones and mobile users. Anyone else check the site from their mobile device/s?

Gen I or Gen II?
Seems to load ok but not great in my neck of the woods on Gen I. Do you know much about making a mobile version? Do I just make a smaller version of the site and give it it's own url? I wonder how the data gets synced between the two versions.

I used it on both. I just recently got a new one and it definitely loads much faster with the 3G. My gen 1 phone I was running unlocked and with t-mobile but I imagine the edge with t-mobile is comparable to the edge with AT&T. I don't know how you go about creating a different site for mobile but I will do some research for ya.

I guess I didn't really say that the site runs just fine the way it is on my iphone, no issues other than it not remembering who I am when I return to the site but that's an iphone issue.

No luck on the research yet. Everything I have found just mentions something about resizing the page, but I don't think that's what you're looking for.

the only thing I would suggest for the mobile SB.com site would be only loading the 1st 2 or so pics in a thread with the option to expand the remaining. Text loads super fast if your lookin' in on conditions or TR's when your heading out to the hills. Often I only get my edge connection on the car approach....

iPhone user here .. haven't had any issues with the site on my phone, though I only surf for a couple of minutes in the morning on the train in to work. Too tired to keep my eyes open on the way home.

Yep, I agree. It would be great if the Iphone version didn't load the affiliate ads as well. Keeping the paid advertisers is logical but the affiliate and facebook stuff doesn't seem necessary and only delays the downloads.
On a different note, how about a SB.com app that keeps track of days, vert, conditions, and location. Could be cool. Probably very complicated and expensive to develop but it would be cool.
