Anyone else have this happen? I've had the bindings out four times and done maybe 15-20 transitions, and today I looked down and saw this.

Wish Will would go will the nylon coated steel braid like Voile, but until then it's a trip to the hardware shop to fab my own.

I replaced mine with a spectra dyneema core variety of cordage.

Good call Had some Kelty triptease on hand and it looks like it will work much better! Also got rid of that continuous loop of cord the originals had and went with loops on each end, off a retraced figure eight. Not nearly as unruly as the original setup. Probably end up heat shrinking over the loops to reinforce them a bit.

I like the original design but I also think it's over-engineered. A static length of cord is fine for me but when I replaced the frayed bits I put the sliding double-fisherman's (or whatever that knot is called) back in but find that I don't really use the adjustable aspects of it.

I think the problem is that the leashes are too tight and are grinding on the split ring in the pin. There should be a little slack in the system so the leash isn't under lots of tension. To adjust the length of the leashes remove the toe buckles and pull the leash out of the sleeve. You can push the knots closer to each other to increase the length. If you need any spares just drop us a line.

No frayed leashes here...I despise pin leases and have always promptly removed them from my bindings over the years. I also like coming from the outside-in as opposed to the inside-out.

My leash finally frayed and broke this week. I just replaced it with the cable leashes that Voile provides with the slider tracks. The Voile cable leash is shorter, and so sits more snug against the binding while touring (so it gets hit less while skinning). Also, I think light weight cable is more durable than cordilet in the way that it holds up better when banging against metal edges.

Random question, why do you despise pin leashes bcdude? I think about dropping it and losing it in pow, and then getting cluster effed..

I've been replacing my leashes with some stretchy cord of about the same thickness you can get at REI (with the webbing and stuff in the climbing section). You can run much shorter leashes because they stretch, so they're cleaner looking. I've never frayed or broken one in 3 seasons either. It's like 15 cents a foot.

I have been using the leashes that come with resort bindings and they work great...been using these for many years and its looks clean as well. Most shops will give them out for free

I used picture-hanging wire, wrapped with gorilla tape.

That Barefoot board brings back so many memories!
