I have and I love em, they make touring much less work in variable conditions, especially nice for traversing on hard pack or ice. Typically I have to work really hard to keep the skis from rolling sideways on traverses and it kills my feet, the straps almost completely eliminated that. Highly recommend them!

I use them on long approaches and I do find that do tighten up the binding to boot interface. I generally find that I can't be bothered to put them on for anything less than 500m however as they take a bit of time. Probaly a good idea for the 20bucks if your tour out of VB, but if you do slack country or sled access probaly not a big concern

I haven't used the strappy straps but created my own last year and they work great, especially for those short downhills where you don't want to change over to ride mode. I felt a lot more stable having the lateral support. Around here, some of the de-proaches are long ski outs through wetland/bushwacking hell on rolling hills. These make that much more bearable, while still just enough of a pain in the ass to make it fun.
