A Vibram-style sole is a great next step for a split-specific boot. The heel profile is very low which is nice in the reduction of drag. The toe however is lacking in crampon compatibility. Hard to tell from the picture but the boot definitely needs to have removable liners. The upper lacing system looks curious too. There appears to be an upper buckle (arrow on the right above) as well as a pull-cord that stashes in a little pocket on the side of the boot (arrow on the left above).

Here is a photo that I've enlarged slightly and adjusted the brightness/contrast on to bring out a bit more detail.

The Burton Driver X has got a Vibram sole as well.

I'm pretty surprised that the Deeluxe Spark boot hasn't got heel and toe welts (or at least heel welts) to be able to attach binding type crampons to.
Crampons with harnesses can be used with any other boot anyway.

It is something like this:

I agree the boots are nice, but if I had wanted to talk about the boots I would have started a thread in the boot section of the forum.

I want to find out what is new/different about the burner bindings from Spark for next year, so if anyone knows anything please post here...if not, and you want to talk about the boots, please start your own post in the boot section of the forum.

From looking at the catalog, it looks like the burner bindings will be similar to the blazes, but the highbacks will be stiffer.
