I'm thinking I'd like to run my board through the stone grinder to add a little structure so things aren't quite as sticky in the spring conditions (powder days have to end sometime, even in Utah).
I've always used a Grindrite (Ski Tuner) belt grinder on boards until this year, but now use one of the Montana robotic type stone only machines. On the Grindrite when I'd tune splitboards for customers, I'd always split the board and do each half.
The question is, do I run it through the new machine as 2 skis or one board?
I'm thinking to continue to split the board as I've done in the past.
Anybody with any feedback? Board is a Voile 178ST.
I too have only used a Grindrite. In my opinion I would run the ski's separate. I think theres a possibility of them running uneven when the board is put together. When they are separate, even pressure can be applied and you can make sure to get that inside edge too. Just my opinion with my little experience that I have.
Been up Millcreek lately? I was stoked to hear your local upbringing there. I get bad looks from all XC skiers. I need to find where the pow turns are up there. Do you know?
