Well after the craziness that went with the beginning of this season the snowpack is really becoming a bomber base with this January spring like weather. Well at least above 7,500' .
Temps above 9,000' have gotten above 40F. and for a couple nights they didn't go below 32F. Temps at 8,000' have gotten up to 33F. and on the valley floors it has gotten into the low 20's and below zero at night.
Snow conditions range from mash potatoes to consolidated high speed powder to ice.
The high pressure has also brought about a tremendous amount of surface hoar. Hopefully this won't be a problem later on. So I'm hoping the next series of storms come in warm and wet and go out cold and dry
In the meantime I am going to continue riding untouched, consolidated low altitude pow.

WARM&WET
Yes in deed fellow spliboard glisse enthusiasts. The snow that came in this afternoon came in warm and wet. We were reveling in watching it melt and bond with the hoar that had been formed over the last week! There is light to moderate snowfall forecasted from today through Saturday with a potential for "significant snowfall for Saturday night."

Lucky devils. We've just finally been getting over a November rain event and then last week it had to go and get cold, clear followed by new snow. GRRRRR!!!!!

GOOD NEWS!!!!!
The snow that came in yesterday felt like it bonded to the old pretty well. The cold last night brought some fine Teton POW! Excellent, high speed, light and fluffy this morning. Still snowing! Hoping for the predicted 19" by Sun/Mon.
Hearty congratulations! Sounds perfect. We just got our wet storm down here with (cross fingers, etc) a cold one of unknown magnitude scheduled to follow. I hope it stays cold down there and snows snows snows. I believe bananas are in order.

Warm & Wet once again! IT's !
This morning's storm came in warm and wet again. Our first 2 laps we were soaked like riding in the rain. Our last 2 laps our jackets, gloves and packs were frozen.
On our last 2 laps every turn was "white room" BOOM!
Hopefully we can stay in this kind of cycle until June!
We rode a line in the general area of a line I rode last weekend with WyoSplit. It was over the knees this weekend!

It was so deep and fast yesterday. My girl and I were slugging back up to the top of Edelweiss and doing laps off the far left side of the nose. Our last lap we rode the bowl. It was like no one had even been in it all day. We rode 4, 5,000 vertical foot days in a row. We were dragging ourselves back up to the parking lot last night in a total powder euphoria.

Well hopefully the warm and dry is over for awhile. There are few things in life as amazing as surfing deep powder in -25F. temps. The ultimate in light, dry and fluffy! Report is there's another foot on the way. Avy danger may go back up to HIGH . Hopefully not for too long .
