good conditions now... raincrusts underneath providing good base some pretty deep pow on that!!! last storm blew with S to W winds, loaded things up pretty good failures observed on various aspects, storm snow some sun effect on sunday more snow jus now is the rumour!!! have fun with it!!!!
with last years dry season and this summers fine weather the glaciers have rilly been melting out, big holes where you might never have seen em before.... theres bin fresh snow flyin now but anyone whos thinkin bout gettin the jump on the season by hittin the glacier runs, keep in mind the crevasse hazard will be much elevated thru the early season hopefully it just dumps huge with not much wind an we can all get over it....
still some marginal early season conditions very shallow boney aldery rockboards! below 2000-2200m good stuff up high, but smart to think bout crevasse hazards on the ice a wind crust with some sun effect might keep you off the rocks if your high nuff, w good powdah on top not much b/w your deck n the deck down low, safety third!!! sunday, swiss glacier: note the exposed rocks down below the glacier, around the tupper ridge approach, it gets much worse lower down
Its winter up there. As nov 5th, snowpack at the pass is shallow but a good base in the alpine (about 150cm at 2100m) for this time of the year. Toured up to the tree triangle on a cold sunny day
