4-6" new overnight as of 8am on mansfield, w/ bonding to old snow surface much better than expected. rode mostly inbounds, as the staunch ice crust from the recent rain event is still evident underneath. anyway, great turns. no complaints.

was that you who i saw on a burton split?

Still going to be some hidden traps in the BC tomorrow, but there was more snow than skiers/riders at Stowe today. First chair tomorrow should be sick. Have Fun!

merry christmas everyone!

on Tue 23 Dec I got my first bc runs (since i broke a shoulder last Feb) of the season off spruce. although I was far from first... lots of tracks before me, powder was good, light and deep. the prevailing winds from the prev day blow all the pow out of the resort and dumped it into the trees.

sadly, we just had 2 days of r--- and 50 deg temps down here in NJ. I can only assume VT bc is shut down hard until the next storm rolls through.

anyone else get out this past weekend?

was the vt precip all liquid ? :(

surprisingly little of the precip turned out to be rain, but it did the damage anyway... This weekend looks to be worse, not better. /:(

Rain last night did yet more damage. The upshot was that we had beautiful spring skiing at Stowe today. Tomorrow, anything not groomed could be seriously scary. If the forecast of a coating to 1" tomorrow night is correct, Tuesday won't be that great either, but the 3-6" on Tuesday night should be great early Wednesday.

mon dec 29

tough times lately... got shut down xmas eve w/ santa bringing strong winds and some rain for late last week into the w/e. the thaw continued until last night, saw about 18-30" of base lost over that time period if not more, mostly from mild winds. gotta love new england.

now we need to rebuild some base and get another few storms under us again. looks like friday or saturday w/ all forecast models in agreeance w/ poss signif snow. stay tuned.

besides that, the bc here is shot and windjacked --

talk soon.

Definitely agree. Sources tell me that we need about 15" more out of bounds before it will be good... That assumes normal distribution top to bottom, which might have gotten a bit jacked by the rain over Xmas.

Posted this over in "Partners Wanted" as well....................

Im in Fairlee Vermont most weekends through late april.......I was looking to hit something Saturday or Sunday the 17th/18th depending on conditions. I had Camels Hump in mind but im open for other options/suggestions if anybody wants to make a trip with me.

There should be some options for this weekend with some bigger snow amounts coming in the next couple of days but i will most likely be at Jay (Resort) on Saturday and will probably head home early Sunday morning.

Thoughts on a trip next weekend?
