Apparently one bad idea (ski link) wasn't enough, so hey lets multiply it by seven...

this shit is horrible. Adam O. made a great point on his blog tetonsandwasatch.com this about much more than land control. with rising global temps it seems the snow line gets higher and higher each year in the wasatch. I mean the y couloir never even came into shape this year. with interconnect controlling almost all high elevation terrain at the head of park city, millcreek, bcc and lcc, that leaves public land to elevations and drainages that might not have a skiable snowpack for much of the winter.

i'll firebomb the prick bastards  hopefully cooler heads will prevail in the coming months and grassroots efforts can at least delay the plan moving forward

Does this mean that Alta and Deer Valley would allow snowboarding? I mean after all we are "ONE" right...riiiiiggghhhht

How would "our kind" get from Brighton to Snowbird? Do we have to pass through the Alta Nazi camp with our heads bowed down? "Papers! Papers!...Registration!, where you heading boy?" ...Does the family on a week long vacation who's kids(or all :D )snowboard really benefit from this "ONE" pass? eh? eh?

We don't need no education
We dont need no thought control
No dark sarcasm in the classroom
Teachers leave them kids alone
Hey! Teachers! Leave them kids alone!
All in all it's just another brick in the wall.
All in all you're just another brick in the wall.

Soooooo.... Fail to mention that 2 out of the 7 resorts do not allow snowboarding....whoops, that could be a problem, nice job KSL

...and really, I'm glad that Liliana Casale with the Utah Travel Connection feels that if we do not move "quickly" we're missing the "train". Perhaps with her intoxicating European accent she could persuade the Alta and Deer Valley resorts to allow snowboarding, because after all we don't want them to miss the euro train.

Even if they decided to allow snowboarding it would still be a sucky plan...just keep it the way it is...the Wasatch is NOT the ALPS or has the capacity to be

That sounds bad, but isn't it almost imposible to run these small resorts?

I'm in Europe, so we have hundreds of these big resorts that span a few valleys. I prefer small stuff with a few lifts myself. But you can't argue with the fact that your average skier, or even beginners, wants a few hundred miles of slopes now. Even though they will not cover 1/10 of them during their whole holiday. Something like Portes Du Soleil is even big enough to be in two countries, it's insane.

Trois Valees is huge too, and terrible. It has 40 gondola's, 70 chairlifts and 70 tow lifts. And people actually go there a lot, even some of my friends. There may be much nicer resorts right around the corner. But nobody cares, because people are like sheep.

On another note, Davos-Klosters is huge as well but they somehow didn't ruin it for backcountry skiers. I still kinda like it there, but it's too crowded exept for pre-season.

My point is, this is what people want. I see a lot of small one lift wonders struggle in the Alps. Nobody goes there anymore so they have to stop operating. That's sad, but all we can do is continue to support the smaller resorts not the big ones. They will close down if you dont go there. I've been to Avers/Juf, Maloja, Cari, San Bernardino and Haldigrad this year. If they close down, we still go there and hike up.

They are now in the process of ruining Andermatt by a linkup and building huge hotel towers. It's painfull for me because i've been there dozens of times, but I'm pretty sure I'll never go there again.

If you can't stop this it's just what's going to happen, better look for other places to ride i guess.
