Hey Wasatch (and beyond) riders, just wondering if any of you are keen to do a mellow full-moon tour on Friday, December 28th? [conditions permitting]

The venue will be low key aspen/meadow riding in a mostly zero avy zone. The biggest threat to safety being Ents, Elves, or Druidic Mayans who got their dates mixed up.
Of course if you want to rock furry hooved trousers and celebrate a belated Solstice that would be pretty rad too. Unicorn chasing is encouraged, but this is a no kill event.

I'll probably drag some assortment of food and beverage up into the hills and dig out a spot for relaxing and howling at the sky, but I can't promise anything gourmet.
If you're one of those weirdos who doesn't like Easy Cheese and Chick'n n a Biscuit, then BYO whatever.

The moon's rise is around 5:45PM, setting at 7:45AM (Offically Full @ 3:20AM)
Attendance is voluntary and at your own risk, please dress accordingly, wear a noggin protector and sport whatever additional lighting you need.

RSVP if you want directions, want to setup a carpool, or just have an insatiable desire to stalk splitters in a Bigfoot costume... (Note to Bigfoot costume wearers, stay out of the road).

I'll update as the weather picture unfolds :guinness:

Doug. I am in for sure. I am sure Ryan who we went to Basin with would be interested as well. Should be a fun night with stoke and good company.

Damn, sounds fun. As long as my work schedule doesn't get in the way, I'm in! If possible, keep me in the know

Super cool to see some interest, just need weather cooperation: Dump + Clearing

I'm planning on heading up between 10PM-Midnight and probably camping out (er passing out in my tent) until Saturday morning.
I'm interested in people's thoughts on night/overnight parking at: Spruces, Reynolds Flat and Bear Trap? (e.g., run ins with cops, crooks, etc.)

The general area of the moon meet-up will be somewhere around Short Swing, PP3 and the periphery Bear Trap Aspens. I chose this area for its proximity to parking, lap-ability and mostly nonexistent avy threats. I'm open to other suggestions with equal or better logistics, little or no avy danger, ease of access and overnight parking.

Cheers!

I was going to suggest USA bowl just because it is so wide and open and somewhat remote but I think the Mill D North Fork parking will be a lot better because I doubt we'd be able to park overnight at Solitude. I just need to line up a 0 degree bag and I'll be down to camp out. Stoked!

I'm pretty sure there is no overnight parking at Spruces, last time we did an overnight in Mill D we parked down at Reynolds Flat...Cardiac bowl would be a good moonlight tour :D The NOAA Forecast is looking good

Thanks for the 411 Dave... (BTW sweet lines in the conditions thread) :headbang:

Well it looks Friday may be good and Saturday looks really good :D

 Sadly, I'm out of commission with gnarly flu, enlarged spleen and extreme dehydration (I think this is becoming a December tradition for me). That said, I'm hard pressed to have anyone counting on me to be the life of a party, much less wanting to spread flu, so carry-on and be safe out there.

So what is the final word, if any?
I don't see any reason why I shouldn't go, I can probably get the day off work.
I spent the Friday before Christmas stuck in an airport on a work trip, so I was told to take half of Friday off, and I think I can parlay that into a full day off.

Even though Doug sounds out of commision, get better Doug!, I would still be up for doing a full moon tour preferably Friday night. Who all is still in?

Still in. Big board, or small board?
