I for one would love it if Alta allowed boards, mainly just to witness the looks of horror and disgust from the uppity skiers who have reveled in the fact that boards are not allowed for so long.
This is just Punk Rock enough for me!

I for one will go to Alta and realize their worst horrors; scrape every turn, bang my board in the liftline, use the word "cunt" in every sentence, not flush after i drop a deuce then leave and never give them another dollar.
"Alta is for Skiers. And Snowboarders." Someone's brand manager is getting reamed for this one.
Yeah I could care less if Alta allowed boards. I've skied and its plain to see why it would suck on a snowboard. Unless you snowboard with ski poles. There are tons of flat areas. I really don't understand what appeal it has to everyone in the valley. Whether I'm on skis or a board, there are tons of resorts I'd rather go to.
Man we really need to fight all these resort expansions. They are all horrible ideas. Not just for winter touring but for summer activities as well.

ps-sorry I used the word cunt. I like everyone on here and don't actually think any of you are c-words. I was in a ranting mode and wanted to spice things up.

Let's just consider the words "Cunt" and "Alta" interchangeable since we are on a snowboard website and all.
The only real problem I have with Alta not allowing riders is that it's on public lands. If it were private land I wouldn't like it, but I wouldn't have a problem with it.
Are Alta, Deer Valley and Mad River Glen the only resorts that still have a ban in effect?
I would hate to loose grizzly gultch aswell but i dont think it will happen in the near future...Plus If you want a wasastch grade resort just go to snowbird...they have the same, if not better terrain than alta...plus great sidecountry access
