Ha, thanks brother I got way lucky with perfect light conditions... BTW I followed that trail we saw snaking up into the scree, but I turned back @ 10,383 for fear of lightning attack.

Doug and Dan I am pretty envious of your guys photos. I wish I had half the skill. One of these days I hope to take good photos :headbang: Looks like both of you guys have been keeping busy.

Okay, so maybe snow and avy conditions this isn't, but I did see a patch of rotting snow in the bottom of Maybird Gulch, no instabilities were noted, and that will have to do for a couple more months. Oh and I saw JiveStick just as I got back to my truck, so maybe he'll have some cool photos and in depth snow analysis up on his blog later.

Anyway, I made an early morning bid for the summit of Pfeifferhorn. The plan was to go sub three hours car to car, but I missed it by about nine minutes (3:08:50). I started right at 5AM and conditions were spectacular, perfect temperature, soft packed trail from yesterday's deluge, surreal light from the near full moon, very inspiring run. Unfortunately with regards to going sub 3hr, I spent w-a-y too much time trying (unsuccesfully) to get night shots of Red Pine lake in the moonlight. Looking to go sub 2:45:00 next time.

Since it still isn't the season yet, I went for a quick run up bear trap fork to see the leaves changing. It was an enjoyable run, but I forgot how much vert you gain there. It was also my first attempt in actually editing photos in lightroom haha.
