Hell yeah! Some friends and I rallied up to Vail yesterday for 20" of softness! It sure has been a while, and we rode until last chair.
I took on "Rasputin's Revenge" twice. On the second time around, I shot into that super steep aspen grove just left of the cliffs. I threaded two trees and tried to make a toe-side turn, but in waist-deep powder, my board only made it about 1/3 of the way around, and my body kept going straight...BANG! Tree trunk to the rib cage. Knocked the wind right outta me and I had to grunt and scream just to make sure I could still breathe.
When I finally got my breath back I thought I had a broken rib. Fuck, it hurt. I recovered and rode down to the chair and checked myself over. I think I'm gonna be okay. I made it through the rest of the day but took it easy.
As much as I'd like to get back up there tomorrow...I've got some major bruising pain going on so I think I need a few to recover...

OUCH! I'm sorry to hear that Adam. I hope you make a quick recovery. I love that area out there. I usually ride a different section of the ridge where almost no one goes. I've found pow there days after a storm. I haven't riden Vail in too long.
